Challenging situations

Challenging situations pop up at any time and seem to be more prevalent when feeling unwell and energy depleted.

Yesterday was a prime example of this type of occurrence.

Upon arriving at our destination for an appointment my daughter and I reached the door at the same time of another family entering the building. This seeming lovely young lad kept the door open allowing us entry into the building.

I thanked the boy as we passed him and continued into the waiting room where by we sat down and waited for my daughter to be called into her appointment.

As soon as this young lad and his mother sat near us in the waiting room it all started.

I must say that I only had to put up with his antics and loudness for fifty minutes whilst they waited for their appointment to commence. The mother of this boy had him around the clock day in and day out.

As I was saying, I was not feeling very well and do not respond well to excessive noise in a small waiting room which went on continuously for quite some time.

My daughter experienced ten minutes with me before heading to her session and left me knowing I was not going to enjoy waiting for her.

On the up side, after writing in my notebook for ten minutes, trying to ignore the boy stacking and crashing toys and playing noisily in the toy box dragging out  blocks and throwing them into the container he was playing with, I put my pen and paper away and decided the only way to not blow a gasket was to zone in with Meditation.

I sat comfortably in my chair with my hands folded in my lap and closed my eyes.

Then I proceeded to chant Om in my head and allowed the energies of Om work to take place.

I could sense and feel the energy at play.

The energy moving and working in my sore throat  and neck regions and then it slowly moved around my head, above my head and around my entire body as I sat quietly chanting OM on the inside.

I soon became aware that the stress was leaving and I was feeling much calmer.

An inner light is ignited whilst meditating.  A strong sense of calm pervades the being. A smile is evoked as you connect with this wondrous energy within one’s self.  The sense of self , a deep calmness, a softness of spirit and energies.

It is readily available to one through meditation.

I could still hear the boy and all of his noise.

Through meditation the noise and commotion became less of a problem and became background noise.

Funnily enough, once I took up Meditation pose and practice, the mother of this young lad kept telling him repeatedly to quiet down.

Soon enough my daughter’s appointment ended.

Next I hear  ” mum you can stop meditating now”. I look up and smile at my beautiful daughter who in return smiles back. We both know why I was meditating.

With that I stood up, feeling great from my impromptu meditation session, grabbed my bag and proceeded to finalize our appointment and then leave the building.

Opportunities to re-focus, calm the senses and chill will present themselves at odd times.

I could have chosen to sit in this room stewing on this boys antics the whole time and becoming more frazzled and upset. Instead I chose to redirect those feelings and zone into a better place within self.

My body is still working on healing and recovering from this virus.

Mentally and Spiritually I felt so much better afterwards.

I am so glad I chose to Meditate in this situation.

Thank you for enjoying this journey with me.

Karen.
